Elimination of amalgams

In the CMH we are concerned with the quality of the materials used in dental interventions and avoid using those materials that could produce health problems, as is the case with the use of Dental Amalgams.

If you have in your mouth materials such as amalgams of mercury-silver, titanium implants, nickel, zirconium, some porcelains, plastic materials containing bisphenol-a, you could have problems, the solution for which can be found in the BIOLOGICAL DENTISTRY UNIT of the HILU MEDICAL CENTRE.

Caries

Is a disease of bacterial origin, which produces holes or cavities in the teeth.

Oral surgery

Oral surgery is the dental speciality that takes care of the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of oral pathologies. In some countries, and Spain is one of them, it is carried out by doctors specialising in oral and maxillofacial surgery, with sufficient knowledge and experience in order to practice dentistry and to deal with the pathology of the mouth, including teeth, gums, tongue, palate, oral mucosa, salivary glands, lips, tonsils, oral-pharynx and the temporo-mandibular joints.

Endodontics

When the caries reaches the dental pulp, commonly known as the nerve, it is necessary to proceed to its extraction and the filling of the resulting space with special products, so as to preserve the tooth and avoid pain.

Dental implant

The dental implant is the artificial substitution of the root of the lost tooth. Normally it has the form of a screw and it is manufactured with biocompatible materials, which do not produce rejection, and allow their attachment to the bone. The surface of the implant can have different textures and coverings, normally used to increase their adherence to the bone. (Bone integration when it is titanium and bio-integration when it is made of ceramic material).

Orthodontics

Orthodontics is the science which studies the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the abnormalities of shape, position, relation and function of the dental, maxillary and facial structures. In practice, it is the art of preventing, diagnosing and correcting their possible abnormalities, in order to return the structures to an optimum regularity, by the use of different types of pressure.

Periodontics

Periodontics is a medico-surgical branch of odontology that studies the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the diseases and disorders which affect the tissues that support the teeth and the implanted substitutes, so as to maintain the health, function and aesthetic appearance of the teeth and adjacent tissues. The main periodontal diseases affecting the teeth are periodontitis and gingivitis. At present with the appearance of the implant, periodontics also takes care of the prevention and treatment of peri-implantation diseases, like the peri-implantitis. An early diagnosis and the appropriate treatment can heal the disorders of the dental support, thus recovering lost stability. Bleeding gums are an alarm signal indicating that you should go to the dentist.

Dental prosthesis

A dental prosthesis is an apparatus designed for the restoration of the anatomy of one or several teeth, re also establishing the relationship between the maxillas, and at the same time restoring the vertical dimension of the mouth and replacing the natural teeth and periodontal structures. The objective of the prosthesis is for the patient to achieve proper chewing (efficient trituration of the food), to avoid deterioration of the rest of the dental structures for chewing and to obtain a denture of aesthetically pleasing appearance, as well as to restore the vertical dimension and appearance of the face.

Reconstruction of a tooth can be due to the malformation of the crown or an accident.
