Rhinoplasty is surgery of the nose carried out for cosmetic reasons (the patient wishes to modify the look of his nose) and / or with a functional purpose, which could be to improve breathing

Rhinoplasty could include procedures to eliminate the bone which protrudes excessively (and looks like a hump), to correct the deviation of the nasal partition or septum, or to eliminate congenital malformations making breathing difficult, etc.

Our surgeon will work under the skin, directly over the bones and the nasal cartilage. In this operation the surgeon will attempt to avoid leaving any visible mark on the nose, so that after surgery the nose will look as natural as possible.

The operation usually lasts between 1 and 3 hours, depending on the complexity of the intervention required. When it is necessary to deal with other pathologies, the time required could be longer.

Nose surgery produces functional and aesthetic benefits. Rhinoplasty can improve the appearance of the nose giving a new harmony to the face. In many cases nose surgery is combined with other operations ( such as a lifting or stretching of the face or a chin implant) to achieve a better aesthetic result.

• Nose symmetry. Rhinoplasty can improve an off centre nose, which alters the balance of the whole face. Thanks to nose surgery, the surgeon will give the face a new symmetry.

• Nose shape. The surgeon can reduce or widen the nasal cavities or change the shape of the tip of the nose. In some cases changes can be achieved without the need for surgery, by way of remodelling of the nose.

• Nose size. The surgeon can enlarge or reduce the size of the nose adding or removing tissue although in the majority of cases only small changes should be made.
